We came here for my bday for Teppanyaki and I ordered the filet mignon and scallops and hubby got the filet mignon with lobster, and the tempura mix for appetizer. The food was delicious and our Chef was very friendly and entertaining. I love their lycheetini drink! The customer service was excellent!!

Food was incredible, beers were cold, service was attentive even for us being the first customers that day highly recommend this restaurant! I particularly enjoyed how well-lit the interior of Kobe Japan is. It's very friendly and comfortable

Big restaurant with teppanyaki on one side, then the regular sushi dining on the other. There's a bar with plenty of TV's to catch a game and great happy hour here! I'd give the food here 4 stars in general, the sushi rice 3 stars though (they need to work on making better quality rice that doesn't fall apart). The veggie tempura is great! Service is always friendly and quick. Nice, bright ambiance. I'm leaving a 5 star review instead of 4 to balance the negative reviews that complain about the auto grat. The service here is very good, if you don't want to tip 18-20% for the experience you receive dining in....get take out! Their vegan rolls here are fantastic. The sautéed veggie udon with crispy tofu is strange, because the tofu is on the side. I'd rather it be diced and mixed in to give the tofu flavor. Anyway we love catching Monday night football games here, it's a comfy yummy spot!

Generous size of sashimi of good quality Service is also very good Ambience is great too

We had a great dinner here when we came. I made a phone reservation, so when we arrived, we were seated right away. The ambiance was clean and welcoming, and we were grateful for the kind and attentive service! We placed an order for garlic fried rice, hibachi shrimp, steak, and scallops. The fried rice and vegetables were charged for. Since rice and vegetables are typically included with the meal, we have never gone to a hibachi restaurant that charged extra for them. But furthermore we enjoyed the meal we had, and the flavors were excellent. Overall, it was a positive experience that I would suggest to others.

Yummy yummy ! My family and I came here specifically for sushi and it was our first time here :) Walking in, we were greeted by a kind individual and the rest of our experience here was enjoyable. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it took around 15-20 minutes for our orders to get to us, despite us being one of the few customers seated at the time. Other than that, we enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and would def come back for their quality rolls! We ordered the Tokyo, Tracy, Broadway, and Alligator rolls, as well as takoyaki and a lychee pina colada. All of the rolls were really yummy and super fresh, but the one that stood out the most to me was the alligator roll ! It became one of my favorite rolls ever hehe and I'm so glad we ended our meal with it :') What caught my eye was that it had 4 types of fish: yellowtail, tuna, salmon, seared albacore. It was soso yummy and all of the fish were fresh and buttery,, would def recommend! I couldn't stop thinking about it after we left LOL The takoyaki was pretty good,, although it was a bit more doughy and didn't have bonito flakes :o I tried a bit of the lychee pina colada that my parents ordered, and it just tasted like straight Malibu to me,, not enough lychee flavor; however, my parents thought it was pretty good Kobe Japan is both a teppanyaki and sushi spot, and I liked how both sides were separate. The sushi side has booth seating and everyone was very welcoming and kind. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and I would definitely recommend (please try the alligator roll LOL)

We came here after a long day of travel and were surprised to find that they were not too busy. We were pleased that the service was fast. I had the diablo chicken, extra spicy and the mushroom appetizer. I really enjoyed my meal. My hubby had the steak and scallops, and my daughter ordered a noodle dish off of the menu. Theirs was just okay. We did take meals to my sister-in-law and her wife, and they loved them. We would come again if in the neighborhood.

We had a party of 16 and had a very enjoyable dinner. Last minute we decide to try and find a restaurant in Livermore that would accommodate the size of our group. Luckily we found Kobe and were able to make reservations. The seating is interesting. The "booth" type chairs are high and easily moveable. When grouped together, it makes the area pretty private., The server and bussers were attentive and pleasant. They have an extensive menu and the pricing seemed reasonable. Several people in the groups had sushi and said it was good. The Shrimp Tempura was perfect, very tasty. I had the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen Soup and loved it. The broth had a good kick of spicy but not overpowering. It was a large portion and I ended up taking half of it to go. My brother ordered the Sautéed Garlic Beef Udon, thinking it was a soup, as did I, since I almost ordered the same. It was actually a noodle dish which he said was good. I like the way the Bento Box is ordered. You select from various categories, such as starter, rolls, katsu, teriyaki, etc. You make 3 selections and price varies on the item. Depending on selection, I felt it was a little overpriced for Bento Box portions but several in the group said the food was delicious so sounds probably worth it. It was the perfect spot for a large family dinner and we are happy we found it. We all agreed we will be back.
